Pix Aid

Schools

Kids define enthusiasm. Creativeness and exuberance ooze from their being! The trick is channeling that energy. How about setting up a project at your school to learn more about aid and aiding, raise money to help one of the projects on this site or for a local group's effort to help? It is amazing to see how students get involved with a project where they can see the difference they are making.

You can work through Pix-Aid and the students can report on their efforts with articles and pictures of their car washes, bake sales, theater or any other fund-raising event. The NGO can supply some input of their project. The students can make a year long effort to raise awareness in their community and to raise money for the project directly and through Pix-Aid.

A great aspect of such a challenge is to send a group of students (even just one) to the project site to get a first-hand look and to report back to the other students. The experience is life changing! Students often start out with a bit of retistance, being in a strange place. "It's dirty, "There is nothing good to eat, "It's hot, "They don't know how to live here are some beginning comments. Then they meet people and especially kids

their age and form a bond that breaches the language barrier. Then it's "People are so nice, "This food is good" , "Many things are better here than at home," Everyone has a different way to approach life." Most times, students are in tears at the thought of separation with their new friends and they go back with a whole new look on life and so many stories to tell friends back home.

Write us with your ideas and we will see how we can work together to change lives... not only of needy children in far away countries, but of our own children, enlightened by a new perspective on life. It's all about understanding.
